THE LITTLE DOG TEAM
The Little Dog Coffee Shop is nothing without the skilled staff behind the counter making coffee and good food happen every single day. They show up each morning with one goal in mind: serve great coffee and delicious food. We're pretty fond of the crew and know you are as well. Let's all lift our mugs to these brilliant baristas and gifted bakers.
Caroline and Mason Palmatier, Owners
Calling Little Dog their own since January 2019
What’s the one thing you love the most about running the Little Dog? We love the people! We love our hardworking, fun-loving, brilliant employees that we have the pleasure of working with every day! And we love our customers! We love the diverse community we serve, we love that people from all walks of life find comfort in our little coffee shop. We have always loved hosting friends and family in our own home, and now we get to host people who become like friends and family in our coffee shop... how lucky are we? Also, the muffins. We love the muffins.
Favorite Little Dog Drinks: Caroline goes for cappuccinos and chai lattes, and Mason's current favorite is a maple cortado.
Memorable Coffee Moment: Taking our engagement photos in a coffee shop in Portland. We have always loved the coziness and sense of closeness shared between two people over a cup of coffee.
Our Roots: Mason grew up in northeast Pennsylvania, and Caroline grew up in Northern Maine. She's a County Girl! They met each other while attending UMaine in Orono.
Relocating to Brunswick: We had moved to Southern Maine in 2012, but were looking to settle into a good community with a wide variety of opportunities and thought Brunswick was the perfect place! Brunswick is a thriving community where you can find artistic, theatrical, physically active, hard-working and community-oriented Mainers around every corner. We are very excited and eager to be a part of this community, now and in the future.
We Love Maine: The ocean, lakes, rivers and mountains, the friendly people, the four seasons, and having the space to live your life and be who you want to be.
Dream Playlist: Lo-fi funky jazzy dreampop with Scandinavian influences, if that makes any sense at all.
Secret Talents: Mason has a board game collection that should certify him as an official board game geek, and Caroline is a humble wine connoisseur.
Furry Friends: Tallulah (aka Tally) is our little dog we lovingly refer to as our "permanent puppy" due to her small size (40 lbs) and constant cuteness. Clooney is our giant lazy tabby cat, and yes, Caroline did name him after George Clooney because of his dashing good looks and cool attitude.
Meticulous. Inventive. Genuine.
Little Dog since 2007
Mark is our amazing savory chef and baker. He puts the pizzazz in our pastries.
Life before Little Dog: I owned my own business, Carter-Williams Design, creating high-end decorative accessories with glass. We sold all over the world.
Dream coffee shop playlist: Classic jazz.
Why do you work at Little Dog: I needed to get away from high-pressure jobs. But then, surprise, it’s a high-pressure job!
Behind the counter since 2017
Christopher is our all-star senior barista with impeccable customer service.
Energetic. Maverick. Loyal.
Little Dog since January 2019
First Coffee Memory: The noise of my dad’s coffee grinder, and the smell of Eight O’Clock Coffee.

Furry friend: Kiah, or Little Cloud, as I call her, is my partner's samoyed mix rescue pup. She is a walking, boofing cloud of fluff with the goofiest smile.
Secret Talent: I make costumes and cosplay. I'll talk your ear off about costume details if given the chance. Once, I spent nine hours hand-beading one costume piece.
Coffeeshop Playlist: Electro swing is good for every occasion.
Life Before Little Dog: I worked at a Dunkin’s in Mass, a bit outside of Boston to be specific. It was a much different and much louder vibe than here.
Favorite Little Dog Drink: Double cortado with soy and a pump of vanilla.
